About C.A.PICARD®

Carl Aug. Picard GmbH was founded in 1876 by Carl August Picard in Remscheid as a grinding shop and has been operating to this day as a family-run company, now in its 5th and 6th generation. The company manufactures precision plates, highly wear-resistant press and forming tools as well as wear-resistant process parts for segmented twin-screw and single-screw extruders, pelletizer knives and die plates for underwater pelletizing. Three business divisions form the portfolio: Plate Technology (wear parts for foundry machinery, sand-lime brick presses, scrap baling presses, press tools for multi-daylight presses, punching and base plates, safety steel HC Protect®), Extruder Technology, and Industrial Services with its own hardening shop (carburizing using the Carbodrop process up to 1050 °C, quench hardening), contract grinding and contract straightening. Materials include high-alloy steels and stainless steels such as RHCS 40/50, AISI 630 and AISI 420. Around 100,000 extruder process parts are produced each year. More than 500 employees work worldwide at sites in Germany (Remscheid, Monschau, Bönen), the USA, China, Japan and Thailand.
