About Carl Gluud

Carl Gluud GmbH & Co. KG is a third-generation, owner-managed family business from Bremen that combines timber trading and wood processing under one roof. The company imports inspected and certified sawn timber from Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Eastern Europe and domestic production, and manufactures wooden pallets, wooden packaging such as wooden crates, wooden skids and beverage crates, as well as heavy-duty crates for complete production systems and export packaging in accordance with standardised guidelines. When designing export packaging, structural strength, load capacity, corrosion resistance and transport route requirements are taken into account; production takes place in the company's own workshop in Bremen or on-site at the customer's premises. Small series are also produced. In addition, Carl Gluud offers warehousing and logistics at Hohentorshafen with its own vehicle fleet, order picking for export and import goods, logistics consulting and just-in-time deliveries to destinations and ports worldwide. Customers come from the processing industry, the timber and building materials trade, the logistics sector and air freight; among the most traditional customers is the export brewery Beck & Co, which has been supplied since the company's founding in 1878.

Quality & Certification

Manufacturing follows the HPE guidelines of the Bundesverband Holzpackmittel, Paletten, Exportverpackung e. V. as well as the IPPC standard ISPM 15 (heat treatment); the timber is inspected according to quality and sustainability standards before processing, and the company is approved as a regulated agent (LBA RegB) for air freight.

History

1. 1878
