About Carl Röntgen
Carl Röntgen GmbH is a family business founded in 1848 in Remscheid and the oldest German manufacturer of wide and narrow band saw blades for the wood industry. The product range includes ripping and block band saw blades as coiled stock (10–311 mm width) or as finished saws, narrow band saw blades for carpentry workshops, saw blades for mobile sawmills, and band knives for fabrics, foam, plastics, paper and textiles. Under the subsidiary EMÜR, butcher band saw blades for meat, fish and bone are also manufactured. The value chain includes tooth cutting with standard and custom tooth forms (including variable-tooth pitch, Winter tooth), tooth setting, butt welding, straightening and tensioning, stellite tipping, and tooth tip hardening. High-quality band saw steels from Voestalpine are used (including UHB 15, UHB 15N20, CR-100 swedish through CR-400 Xtreme). Customers include sawmills, carpentry workshops and machine manufacturers such as MEBOR, HEMA, EWD, SERRA, ZENS and SCHULTE; in addition, the company offers a repair and reconditioning service for used band saw blades from 50 mm width as well as sawmill accessories.
