The CARL SPAETER GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1875, now in its fifth generation, with headquarters in Duisburg. As a group of 16 operationally independent trading companies with 25 sales and warehouse locations in Germany, the group distributes rolled steel (flat and long products), pipe products, stainless steel, aluminium semi-finished products, plastics and industrial raw materials. In addition to warehousing, SPAETER offers extensive processing: sawing to fixed lengths with tight tolerances, plasma and oxy-fuel flame cutting, laser cutting (including 20-kW fiber lasers in Kassel/Kaufungen), CNC drilling, sandblasting and priming, galvanizing and film lamination as well as material and ultrasonic testing. Customers come from construction, mechanical engineering, hydraulics, the steel and foundry industries as well as refractory, abrasives, plastics and advertising technology. With more than 1,450 employees, revenue of more than €2 billion and over 540,000 m² of covered warehouse space, the company ranks among Germany's top 500 by revenue. Since 2023, the group has been sourcing CO2-reduced bluemint® recycled steel from thyssenkrupp Steel (CSGreen supply program).
