About Carlo Bernasconi AG
Carlo Bernasconi AG is an independent Swiss family business in its fourth generation that has been working with the raw material stone for over 100 years. The company machines and processes natural stone, ceramics and quartz composite into kitchen worktops (including cooking on ceramic with an integrated induction hob according to TPB Tech), rear-ventilated facades, floor and wall coverings, staircases, bathroom work, garden elements and gravestones. Traditional stonemason and stone sculpting work in Bernese sandstone — such as restorations, reconstructions and sculptural work — is combined with modern machine-based stone processing. In addition, the company manufactures and trades mineral raw materials: quartz sands, premium chippings and premium gravel, blasting media such as Agresit®, activated carbon and aggregates for concrete, which are washed, classified, dried, sieved, dedusted and packaged in its own plant. The company also offers blasting technology for surface preparation (e.g. corrosion protection on steel and concrete), mineral plasters, terrazzo floors as well as services in water treatment and wastewater technology. Production takes place in Bern, Bubendorf and Bärschwil; further locations in Zurich and Crissier serve consulting and exhibition purposes. The company is ISO 9001:2000 certified and trains stonemasons with Swiss Federal VET Certificate (EFZ).
