The CAST Group
CAST S.p.A. was founded in 1978 in Turin and manufactures high-pressure fittings for oleodynamics (hydraulics) as well as hoses and hose fittings in carbon steel and stainless steel. Production follows international standards such as DIN 2353 (B3, B4, B7), SAE J514, BS 5200, SAE J516 B4 and ORFS SAE J1453. The monoproduct concept concentrates all resources on the development and production of these fittings. The administration, sales offices and distribution centre are located in Volpiano (Turin), the production plant with raw material warehouse in Casalgrasso (Cuneo); further branches exist in Modena, Dietzenbach (Germany) and Ozan (France). CAST has more than 18,000 m² of covered floor space on a total site area of approximately 35,000 m² and employs 168 staff. The company is represented by distributors in, among others, China, Brazil, Poland, Turkey, the USA, the UAE and Greece.

Quality
Ten percent of the workforce works full-time in quality and research; since 1993 the quality manual and quality processes have continuously followed the developments of ISO 9001, confirmed by regular inspections by the certification bodies. The metrology laboratory (Sala metrologica) uses, among other things, metallographic microscopy, profile projectors, hardness testing, profilometers, micrometers and thread plug gauges; the test room performs static and dynamic pressure tests up to 4000 bar as well as tightness and fatigue tests.
