About Castel Frères
Castel Frères is the historic wine trading house of the Castel Group, founded in 1949 by the Castel siblings and based in Bordeaux. The family business combines brand wines (Maison Castel), an alliance of 20 family estates with 1,000 hectares of vines (Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus), and a Négociant business with Bordeaux Grands Crus, including Château Beychevelle (Grand Cru Classé 1855, acquired in 2011). The value chain includes viticulture on its own estates in Bordeaux, Languedoc, Provence and the Loire, wine production in seven wineries in France's largest wine-growing regions, bottling on 45 lines (bottles and Bag-in-Box), storage, logistics and distribution. With revenues of around €680 million (2022), 350 million bottled units per year and more than 6,000 customers across all sales channels, the company supplies the specialized trade and gastronomy in over 80 countries. 100 estates (1,100 ha) are certified under Terra Vitis, and 20 ha are organically certified.
