About CEMAS Elettra

CEMAS Elettra develops and manufactures machines and systems for joining thermoplastics. The portfolio includes laser, vibration, infrared, hot plate and ultrasonic welding machines as well as staking and gluing processes and hybrid machines that combine vibration and infrared welding. Every machine is co-developed to customer requirements (co-design) – from feasibility consulting through CAD design and prototyping to welding trials, pilot series, commissioning, training and spare parts supply. The company was founded in 1982 as a small local business in Italy and is now among the largest European suppliers in the field of plastic welding technology. With production plants in Italy, Brazil, China, Mexico and Turkey as well as technical and commercial offices in, among others, Germany (Großostheim), France, Poland, Portugal, Spain, India, South Korea and the USA, CEMAS Elettra supplies OEMs from industries such as automotive and electronics. More than 3,000 developed products and over 200 installations per year document the company's project experience.

Processes & Technologies

THR

Thermoplastics

Joining partner for all welding and staking processes from laser to ultrasonic.

LAS

Laser welding

Produces clean, precise and visually high-quality weld seams on thermoplastics.

VIB

Vibration welding

Joins thermoplastic surfaces through friction without external heat, flexible in size and shape.

IR

Infrared welding

Contact-free, residue-free joining variant with heat input adapted to the seam geometry.

HP

Hot plate welding

Delivers reliable, strong and precise joints across various component sizes.

US

Ultrasonic welding

Spot-wise, fast and repeatable joining for custom applications.

STK

Staking (infrared + precision staking)

Clean point joint, especially for electronics and sensitive surfaces.

GLU

Gluing

Flexible, precise and heat-free joining where special requirements apply.

HYB

Hybrid technology (vibration + infrared)

Combines both processes for efficient, strong joints of complex thermoplastic components.
