CESAB Material Handling Europe (CMHE), headquartered in Bologna, is a manufacturer of industrial trucks and part of the Toyota Group. The product portfolio includes hand pallet trucks, electric low-lift and high-lift trucks, order pickers, reach trucks, electric and gas/diesel counterbalance forklifts as well as electric tow tractors and platform trucks with lifting capacities of up to 8 tonnes. Production takes place in European production facilities according to the Toyota Production System (TPS); the CE-series hand pallet trucks are assembled in Sweden from EU components, with robotic welding used for increased product strength. 3D computer modelling and finite element analysis are used in design, including for the Intelligent Mast Design (IMD) mast system. Materials include steel for forks and chassis hoods, lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries as energy solutions, and polyurethane for drive wheels. Customer industries include logistics, manufacturing, wholesale and retail, e-commerce, building materials/construction, food and beverage, and the paper industry. Products are distributed through a Europe-wide dealer network, complemented by service, genuine spare parts and financial services.
