About the Winery
Château de la Jaubertie is a family-run winery in Colombier in the Dordogne, located in the Périgord Pourpre about 100 km from Bordeaux. Operating in the AOP Bergerac (red, white and rosé wines) and the AOP Monbazillac, the estate produces organically certified wines that reflect the region's terroir. The property itself is listed as a Monument Historique: it was once a hunting lodge of Henry IV and was given by him to Gabrielle d'Estrées; later, Léon Beylet, physician to Marie-Antoinette, lived at the château. Today, alongside viticulture, the estate is a destination for wine tourism: guided tours of the vineyard and cellar with tastings are offered year-round, along with cultural events such as concerts, theatre, exhibitions and yoga. There is also a cottage adjacent to the château available for rent; group receptions are possible on request. The estate's website is available in French and English.
