About Challenge Power Transmission

Challenge Power Transmission is a manufacturer and distributor of power transmission products headquartered in West Bromwich (Wolverhampton), UK. The product range includes drive chains and conveyor chains, sprockets, belts and pulleys, taper bushes and shaft fixings, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, electric motors and hydraulics – over 8,000 stock items under one brand. The group was founded in 1979/1980 by Bill Cody as Contimach Limited and was the first company to export drive products from mainland China to Europe and the USA. Production takes place at the group's own plants in China, in particular the conveyor chain plants '818' (2012) and OBIT (2016) in Ningbo, with over 500 tonnes of steel processing per month and manufacturing to DIN standards, international standards and machining tolerances. Challenge also manufactures special power transmission solutions to customer drawings, including a design service by its own engineers, CNC welding of attachment conveyor chains and assembly of gearbox-motor drives. Since 2018 Challenge has been part of Megadyne SpA and since 2019 part of the Ammega Group, with 25 production plants and distribution in over 70 countries on all continents.
