Chemetall is the global surface treatment brand of Surventis and a supplier of specialty chemicals for the pretreatment and treatment of metal surfaces. The portfolio comprises more than 4,500 products: alkaline, acidic and neutral cleaners (Gardoclean), pickling technologies for stainless steel and metal substrates (Antox, Gardacid), conversion coatings (Gardobond, Gardo Flex), chrome-free thin-film pretreatment (Oxsilan, Permatreat), forming lubricants (Gardo Hybrid, Gardomer, Gardolube), coolants (Tech Cool, Acecool, Acecut), corrosion protection (Gardorol), paint stripping and detackification (Gardostrip, Gardofloc) as well as penetrant and magnetic particle testing (Xmor) and aerospace accessories (Ardrox, Naftoseal). In addition to its products, the company offers process monitoring (Gardo Control) as well as planning, installation and monitoring of dosing systems. Chemetall was founded in 1889 as the chemicals division of Metallgesellschaft in Germany and has belonged to BASF since the 2016 acquisition; today it is part of Surventis. With more than 40 sites worldwide, including 17 production sites, the company serves customers in more than 20 industries. The headquarters are located in Frankfurt am Main.
