Founded in 1822, Chemische Fabrik Wocklum Gebr. Hertin GmbH & Co. KG is a fifth-generation family company based in Balve (Sauerland). Its core business comprises the trading of basic chemicals, in particular acids and alkalis, as well as their storage, filling and disposal. Through the group of more than ten specialised companies, additional services are offered: contract filling, contract manufacturing, dilution of highly concentrated acids, dissolving of solids, chemical logistics including dangerous goods transport, and special waste treatment. In-house developments, patents and customer-specific formulations complement the portfolio, such as glycol-based heat transfer fluids, preparations for electroplating, products for water and wastewater treatment, and specialty fertilisers. At Balver Chemieservice GmbH, a tank terminal with approximately 10,000 m³ of storage capacity for 300,000 t of annual throughput of liquid inorganic products and its own port connection are available. Customers come from the chemical industry, electroplating, water and wastewater treatment, agriculture, and mid-sized industry, as well as from municipalities. In 2021, WOCKLUM CHEMIE Nederland B.V. was founded in Numansdorp as a Dutch sales company for the BeNeLux region.
