About Chemnitzer Zahnradfabrik

CHEMNITZER ZAHNRADFABRIK (CZF) is a family-owned company founded in 1890 in Chemnitz, specializing in the development and manufacture of custom special gearboxes as well as high-precision gear parts. The gearboxes are produced as spur gear, bevel gear, worm gear and planetary gearboxes, as well as in combinations, with drive torques up to 10,000 Nm and drive concepts that can be powered electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically. The in-house manufacturing depth covers material cutting, part production (turning, milling, gear hobbing, gear shaping, broaching, wire EDM, grinding), heat treatment, coating, painting as well as assembly and commissioning. Gear parts such as spur gears, pinion shafts, ring gears, spline and serrated shafts, sprockets and special profiles are manufactured from steel, stainless steel, bronze and plastic as single pieces or in small series. Customers come from machinery and plant engineering, extrusion and plastics technology, defence and security technology, marine applications, energy and environmental technology as well as filling and packaging systems. The Chemnitz/Grüna site offers 5,000 m² of production space; in 2025, 80 employees manufactured 25,292 gears.
