About the CHEMPARK
The CHEMPARK is a network of three chemical sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen, operated by Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG. The Leverkusen site (formerly Bayerwerk Leverkusen) covers an area of 480 hectares and is home to around 200 operations with approximately 28,100 employees. In total, more than seventy companies from production, research and services form a network within the CHEMPARK; one third of North Rhine-Westphalia's chemical production takes place at the three sites. The companies produce in an integrated material network, so that transport routes between neighbours are eliminated. Currenta offers services in the areas of utilities (steam, gas, electricity, refrigeration, heat, water), waste disposal, analytics, infrastructure, IT and IIoT, logistics (Chemion), engineering and maintenance (Tectrion) as well as safety and security, including its own plant fire brigade. Companies based there include, among others, Bayer, Covestro, ARLANXEO, Air Liquide, Saltigo, Evonik and Momentive Performance Materials.
