About Chemviron

Chemviron is the European branch of Calgon Carbon Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kuraray Group, with its European headquarters in Feluy, Belgium. The company produces granulated and pelletised activated carbons based on hard coal, coconut shells and wood, as well as impregnated speciality activated carbons and activated carbon cloth, and states that it is the world's largest producer of granulated activated carbon. A core business is the thermal high-temperature reactivation of spent activated carbon: in Feluy, Chemviron operates the world's largest reactivation facility with five multi-hearth furnaces and a capacity of over 50,000 tonnes per year; further reactivation centres exist in Tipton (UK) and Legnago (Italy). The portfolio is complemented by mobile activated carbon filters (CYCLESORB® for liquid phase, CYCLEVENT® for gas phase), rapid column tests, pilot plants and technical service. The solutions are used in drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, soil remediation, biogas upgrading, air pollution control, gold recovery, and the food and pharmaceutical industries. With around 550 employees, Chemviron is responsible for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
