About Chirp Light
Chirp Light AG is a spin-off of ams OSRAM from the Zurich region and develops optical sensors based on 4D FMCW LIDAR technology. The company focuses on optical speed and distance measurement for the navigation of autonomous systems and robotics. The sensor technology is based on coherent measurement: a frequency-modulated laser measures the distance and speed of an object simultaneously, producing precise 4D data (3D position plus instantaneous velocity). The technology uses series components and standard mass-production processes and offers a compact form factor, calibration-free operation, insensitivity to ambient light and low power consumption. Signal processing takes place entirely on the sensor (edge computing), which offloads the host computer. Chirp Light thus addresses industries such as robotics, autonomous navigation systems and optoelectronic sensor technology. The company is headquartered in Thalwil in the canton of Zurich (Switzerland).
