About CHOREN Industrietechnik
CHOREN Industrietechnik GmbH, based in Dresden, is an engineering company and licensor for syngas production using the CCG® process (entrained-flow pressurized dust gasification with dry feed of pulverized coal). Since 2012, the company has continued the CCG® coal gasification business segment of the former CHOREN Industries GmbH and has more than 50 years of experience in the research, design, manufacture, construction and operation of entrained-flow gasification plants. The service portfolio ranges from project development, studies and basic engineering packages through detailed engineering and the manufacture of core components – gasifiers with integrated cooling system, burner systems, coal dust dosing and feeding systems as well as DWT components – to commissioning, training, maintenance and spare parts supply. The process can use almost all types of coal from lignite to anthracite as well as petroleum coke, torrefied biomass, heavy fuel oil and organic waste materials. Customers include the chemical and petrochemical industries as well as energy companies, particularly in China, with plants for ammonia, ethylene glycol and olefins. The group is headquartered in Beijing with branch offices in Hong Kong and Germany.

Feedstocks and Processes
CCG® coal gasification (entrained-flow gasification with dry feed)
High-temperature pressurized gasification (> 2000 °C) for the production of a highly pure, energy-rich syngas free of tars and phenols.
Steam fluidized-bed drying
Drying of coal and slurries with superheated steam to reduce moisture to 5–15 % prior to gasification.
Lignite
Feedstock used, among other things, in the Connell ethylene glycol project (1,200 t/d per gasifier).
Hard coal (sub-bituminous)
Feedstock in the Qinghai, Yulin Chemical, Yulin Energy, Hubei Huanyi and Yiding projects with up to 2,000 t/d per gasifier.
Anthracite coal
Use of hard-to-utilize, high-ash anthracite coals with high sulfur content in the Kaiyang ammonia project.
Petroleum coke
Can be gasified alone or in a mixture with coal after addition of a minimum amount of ash.
Torrefied biomass
Heat-treated biomass with a coal-like structure that can be ground and added to the main fuel.
Heavy fuel oil, bitumen and organic waste materials
Liquid feedstocks that can be processed in entrained-flow gasification.
