About Christian Ulbricht
The Christian Ulbricht GmbH & Co. KG manufactures traditional wooden art in Kurort Seiffen in the Erzgebirge: nutcrackers, smokers, pyramids, ornaments, miniatures and light items are created from turned wood, refined with paint, fur and fabrics. Production is largely carried out by hand according to the principles of Erzgebirge craftsmanship; many items are produced in limited series, partly in editions of 2,500 pieces. Founded in Seiffen in 1928, the company was re-established in Lauingen an der Donau after the family's expropriation and flight; in 1997 the firm returned to Seiffen with a new building on Oberheidelberger Straße. The company is run by Gunther, Kathrin and Steffen Ulbricht; works manager is master wood turner Gunther Ulbricht. In addition to distribution via sales representatives and specialist retailers worldwide, the company offers spare parts and repair service.
