About CL Instruments
CL Instruments Medizintechnik GmbH, based in Attendorn, develops and manufactures custom-made cranioplasties for covering craniotomy defects in neurosurgery. The core product is the cranioTOP system, in use since 2007, which is based on thin pure titanium sheet (titanium grade 1, 0.5 mm) and is protected by a European patent (EP 1806113). Production is carried out individually on the basis of spiral CT data (DICOM): after computational reconstruction of the skull and the defect coverage, a 1:1 positive model is produced by 3D printing, from which the cranioplasty is formed in a forming mould and subsequently laser-marked with the patient name or ID code. The implants are characterized by low implant volumes, high CT and MRI compatibility up to 3 Tesla, and the biocompatibility of pure titanium. Upon receipt of data, the company guarantees a delivery time of a maximum of 14 days. Customers are neurosurgical clinics in the German-speaking region.
