About Clee Medical
Clee Medical SA is a medical technology start-up founded in 2024 and based in Geneva, spun out of the MICA (Minimally Invasive Intracranial Access) research project at the Wyss Center. The company develops an imaging and navigation system based on optical coherence tomography (OCT) for neurosurgery. The system provides real-time images of the brain with a resolution of 15 micrometers – without contrast agents and without radiation – and enables the detection of blood vessels and tissue during the procedure. AI and machine learning methods support navigation. The single-use endoscopy probe is compatible with existing neurosurgical workflows and targets stereotactic and functional procedures such as neuromodulation, biopsies, sEEG and lesioning. The goal is to close the gap between preoperative MRI diagnostics and intraoperative precision.
