About COFERMIN Group
The COFERMIN Group, headquartered in Essen, is a trading and distribution business specialising in industrial raw materials. The company distributes minerals, chemicals and additives, including andalusite, silica fume, chrome ores, magnesia, aluminas, corundum, graphite, lithium minerals, corrosion inhibitors and numerous inorganic chemicals. The business units comprise COFERMIN Rohstoffe, COFERMIN Chemicals, COFERMIN Chrome, COFERMIN Minerals, EEG (iron-containing raw materials) and IMagine (magnesium-containing raw materials). Through a network of more than 30 raw material producers worldwide, including Samancor Chrome, Quiborax, Bikita Minerals and UBE Material Industries, COFERMIN secures supply for its customers in Europe and beyond. The service portfolio ranges from sourcing and quality inspection via logistics (bulk, big bags, silo goods; rail, inland waterway, truck) and customs clearance to technical application consulting and producer audits. COFERMIN does not operate its own manufacturing, but instead assumes the roles of trader, logistics provider, extended workbench of the manufacturer or strategic advisor as required. Customers come, among others, from the refractory, foundry, metallurgy, ceramics, building materials, construction chemicals, feed/food/fertiliser, glass and adhesives industries.

Products and Raw Materials
Silica Fume
By-product of the melting process for FeSi, Si metal or fused zircon; certified to EN 13263-1 for building materials applications, including recycled material from stockpiles.
Andalusite
Natural aluminium silicate with high refractoriness and thermal shock resistance for refractory products.
Chromium oxide
High-melting oxide for ceramics and, because of its hardness, for abrasives.
Magnesium oxide (caustic, sintered, fused)
Available in various calcination grades for refractory, chemical and feed quality.
Tabular and reactive alumina
Increases the thermal shock, corrosion and fire resistance of refractory products.
Chrome ore (sand, flour, lumpy, concentrate)
For foundry moulding sands, ladle filling compounds, magnesia-chrome bricks as well as the glass and ceramics industry.
Regular and white fused alumina
Artificially fused minerals for high-performance applications.
Graphite (natural, amorphous, synthetic)
Carbon-containing products with 70–98 % C for diverse industrial applications.
Boric acid
Heat-resistant chemical, produced from ulexite, among other things for glass and ceramics.
Lithium minerals and compounds
Petalite and spodumene as well as lithium carbonate/hydroxide for glass, ceramics, enamel and rapid-setting cements.
Corrosion inhibitors (benzotriazole, tolyltriazole, benzimidazole)
Proven metal passivators for preventing the oxidation of metals.
Carbores binder
Low-PAH binder for carbon-containing refractory and graphite products.
