About Coher Sense

Coher Sense is a photonics company founded in 2022 in Lübeck that develops compact optical sensors and measuring devices for laser diagnostics. Based on an interferometric measurement method, the wavelength, power and bandwidth of a laser can be captured simultaneously – without optical alignment and with a small footprint. The product portfolio includes the laboratory instruments KISA VIS and KISA VIS/NIR as well as compact OEM sensors for integration into customer equipment, e.g. for continuous monitoring of wavelength and power stability in operation. Fields of application are photonics and laser technology, quantum technology, fibre Bragg grating sensing, Raman spectroscopy and telecommunications. The founding team combines expertise from physics, chemistry and engineering and works closely with researchers and equipment manufacturers. In 2025, the company was awarded the Hamamatsu Photonics Innovation Award at the Laser World of Photonics; Coher Sense is a member of the Spectaris association.
