About Columbus
Columbus GmbH, based in Linz (Austria), develops and manufactures vacuum presses and vacuum bags for woodworking and plastics processing. The machines are used for flat veneering, shape veneering, laminated bending, bonding as well as the forming of thermoplastics, solid surface materials and composites. The product portfolio includes the modular Pioneer vacuum press system, the Infinity system for special lengths, the Vacuplus standard press, the Vacuflex vacuum bag and vacuum pumps (dry-running). In addition to machine technology, the company offers the Columbus 360° system with digital manual (Master Manual), AI support (Master GPT), training on vacuum technology and on the use of PUR hot-melt adhesives, as well as a dealer and sales partner network. Customers come from carpentry, the furniture industry, kitchen and bathroom furniture manufacturing, interior fitting, trade fair construction, yacht and boat building, motorhome and bus manufacturing as well as prototype construction. The company was founded in 1976 and celebrates 50 years of Columbus vacuum technology in 2026; the Austrian site is to be expanded.
