About Contec
Contec AG, headquartered in Uetendorf (Switzerland), fabricates EPDM rubber sealing membranes for roofs, facades and water bodies. Membranes planned on a CAD basis are pre-fabricated with pinpoint accuracy using high-tech machinery. In addition to sealing technology, the company develops photovoltaic substructures, calculates individual fastening systems including wind suction and ballast verifications, and manufactures the roof substrate Contec.fior for green roofs. Services include dimensional surveys, installation planning, welding and installation courses for installation partners, as well as site inspections with protocol and long-term documentation. A recycling concept takes back old membranes and processes production offcuts into bags and rubber granulate mats. Sustainability has been part of the company philosophy since 1992; the life cycle assessment of the EPDM membrane was prepared by Intep, and material tests were carried out by EMPA.

EPDM rubber (Contec.proof)
Sealing membrane with 1.5 mm thickness and density of 1,250 kg/m³, in use as a weather-resistant, root-resistant roof membrane with reference projects spanning more than 40 years.
Polyethylene (PE)
Separation films and vapour barriers; PE films from mother rolls are fully recycled into PE vapour barriers.
Rubber granulate/roof protection mats
Production remnants and old membranes are further processed into bags, rubber granulate and roof protection mats.
Contec.fior roof substrate
Green roof substrate made of 75 % regionally collected roof tiles, enriched with gravel and compost.
