About Conti Coatings
Conti Coatings is a manufacturer of paints, coatings, primers and coating systems for the painting and varnishing trade, the building materials trade and repair painting. Founded in 1905 in Oberhausen, the company trades as Conti Coatings GmbH & Co. KG with its head office in Heidelberg and a production plant in Oberhausen; since 1997 it has belonged to the Kluthe Group, which according to its own statement is the largest independent company for industrial surface treatment in Europe. At the Oberhausen plant, the products are manufactured, filled and shipped, including interior and facade paints, paints, glazes, wood coatings, floor coatings, fillers and construction chemical products. Production is based on modular production systems with fully automatic filling, fully automatic palletizing and a filling line for small containers. In addition, the company offers the Conti ProfiColor color mixing system with around three million tintable color shades, the Rema recycling system for the take-back of paints, glazes, solvents and thinners, and, under the Kluthe brand, thinners, paint strippers, cleaners and wood preservatives. In 2025, the solvent-free ECO-LINE and the Conti RENOLITH renovation system for water and fire damage were introduced.
