About Cosun Beet Company

Cosun Beet Company is a European sugar producer headquartered in Dinteloord (Netherlands) with its German site in Anklam (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). The company develops, produces and markets sugar and sugar specialties for consumers, retail/foodservice and industry. Around 8,000 affiliated beet growers supply sugar beets, which are processed into crystal sugar at the sugar factories in Anklam, Dinteloord and Groningen-Vierverlaten; specialty factories in Puttershoek (dry specialties such as farin and powdered sugar) and Roosendaal (liquid sugar specialties) complete the portfolio. In addition to sugar, bioethanol and biomethane as well as by-products such as pressed pulp, molasses & vinasse, carbokalk, digestate and beet soil are produced – all beet components are utilized. The German factory in Anklam processes around 1.8 million tonnes of beets annually (approx. 14,000 t/day) and employs around 200 staff year-round plus 30 campaign workers. Cosun Beet Company is part of the cooperative Royal Cosun.
