About CPT GmbH
CPT GmbH, based in Freiberg am Neckar, develops and produces precision cutting tools with a focus on thread turning, thread milling, drilling and grooving. The product range includes threading inserts, threading tool holders, carbide thread mills, taps, solid carbide drills, mini countersinking/chamfering tools, thread whirl (whirling) tools and customer-specific special tools with fast production and delivery. All inserts are 100% profile-ground directly after the sintering process; the tools are made from ultra-fine-grain carbide, some with PVD coatings (e.g. TiAlN, triple-layer coating). The tools are used in demanding materials up to 62 HRc, including hardened steel, titanium alloys, superalloys such as Hastelloy and Inconel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminium. Customer industries include in particular medical technology and aerospace, supplemented by general machining production. A comprehensive quality management system with certifications according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 13485:2003 and OHSAS 18001 ensures the required product quality.

Materials and Carbide Grades
Ultra-fine-grain carbide (H10–H25, S10–S25)
Uncoated, tough ultra-fine-grain grade for hardened steel and cast iron up to 62 HRc as well as titanium alloys and superalloys.
PVD triple-layer coated fine-grain carbide (M10–M20, K05–K20, N10–N20)
For stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, non-ferrous metals and most high-temperature alloys.
PVD TiAlN coated ultra-fine-grain carbide (P20–P40, K20–K30)
For stainless steel and exotic materials at medium to high cutting speeds.
PVD TiN coated grade (P15–P35)
For tempered steel and high-alloy steel from 25 HRc at medium to low cutting speeds.
PVD TiN coated fine-grain grade (K10–K20, P10–P25)
For free-machining steels, alloyed steels below 30 HRc, stainless steel and cast iron.
PVD TiN coated grade (P30–P50, K25–K40)
For low cutting speeds, well suited to many types of stainless steel.
Uncoated carbide P20–P30 (on request)
For carbon steel and cast steel at medium to low cutting speeds.
Uncoated carbide K10–K30 (on request)
For non-ferrous metals, aluminium and cast iron.
Ultra-fine carbide grade with PVD multi-layer coating
For superalloys and hard materials up to 62 HRc with high edge, heat and wear resistance.
Ultra-fine-grain carbide grade with multi-layer PVD coating
For stainless steels, cast materials and superalloys with high heat and wear resistance.
