About CResPulse
CResPulse is a university pre-spinout consortium, consisting of the University of Bath (UK), the Medical University of Vienna (Austria), and the International Clinical Research Center (ICRC) at St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno (Czech Republic). The project is funded within the framework of the European Union's EIC Transition Programme with up to 2.5 million Euros (Grant Agreement 101214165). The goal is the development of a neuromorph adaptively 3-electrode pacemaker (PM/CRT) that replicates the natural breathing rhythm synchronization of the heart using Central Pattern Generators (CPGs) on analog Neuromorphic Chips. The circuits are trained through nonlinear optimization (RPDA) and data assimilation using ECG, respiratory, and blood pressure data. The consortium is working on miniaturization, animal trials, and preparation for Phase 1 studies (TRL4 to TRL6), including ISO-13485 compliant manufacturing of the board and housing, as well as IP and business plan development.

Technologies and Methods
Central Pattern Generator (neuromorphic circuit)
Electronic oscillators simulate the nonlinear dynamics of respiratory and cardiac neuronal circuits.
Mixed-Signal Neuromorphic Chip
Silicon neurons emulate membrane conductivities and synaptic dynamics in real-time with low power consumption.
Nonlinear Programming/Data Assimilation
Trains millions of parameters using ECG, respiratory, and blood pressure data for precise beat-to-beat stimulation.
