Critical Manufacturing is a software company founded in 2009, headquartered in Maia (Portugal) and a subsidiary of ASMPT (part of ASM Pacific Technology Limited since 2018). The company does not manufacture physical components, but develops the Critical Manufacturing MES, a Manufacturing Operations Platform that unites manufacturing execution, connectivity, automation, analytics and AI assistance (AI Copilots) in a modular system. In addition, the Enterprise Data Platform provides an enterprise-wide, managed data architecture across multiple plants. The system delivers real-time transparency, seamless traceability and end-to-end control in complex production environments. Customers include international high-tech manufacturers such as Danfoss, Medtronic, Jabil, Vandewiele, B. Braun, Preh and Vishay. Critical Manufacturing employs around 600 staff (2023) and maintains offices in Portugal, Germany, China, Malaysia, Mexico and the USA.
