About us
CUBES GmbH, based in Oberlienz (municipality of Lienz, Tyrol, Austria), manufactures machinery and software equipment for the production of contour-approximate cast blocks made of polyurethane (PU) for model and mould making. The digitally controlled CUBES process approximates the contour of the blocks using a grid and replaces the time-consuming gluing of panels. According to the company, the technology reduces production costs by up to 40 percent and, at around 0.178 kg CO2 per litre of material, exhibits significantly lower CO2 emissions than conventional PU manufacturing processes. Blocks up to a size of 3 × 2 × 1.5 m are produced; the largest component delivered to date was a deep-drawing tool with up to 2,000 litres of casting material for the whirlpool production of a German customer. The CUBES technology was originally developed for the aerospace and automotive industries and is also used in the furniture industry, the arts scene and in whirlpool manufacturing.
