About us
CVL Brewers GmbH is a Swiss craft brewery founded in 2014 with its operating headquarters in Kleindöttingen and a brewhouse in Neuenhof (canton of Aargau). Under the brand «Chen + Van Loon – Beer handcrafted by Winemakers», beers are produced by hand, combining winemaking processes with those of beer brewing in production. Founders Luc Van Loon and Christopher Chen, who met in 2011 at the «Weingut zum Sternen» winery in Würenlingen, brewed their first beer (Pale Ale) in 2013 under the supervision of the Belgian brewers Michel Van Loon and Rudi Cleymans. In 2015, a dedicated brewhouse was set up in the former wine cellar of Christian Voser in Neuenhof. Since Christopher Chen's return to Australia in 2020, Luc and Jan Van Loon have jointly run the brewery. The product range includes beer and wine, sold through an own online shop, resellers, events such as Beer & Dine, tastings and festivals as well as a beer club.
