About us
Cycle GmbH was founded in 2015 as a spinoff of the Hamburg research institute DESY and develops production-oriented systems for optical timing distribution and synchronization with femtosecond precision. The portfolio includes ultrashort-pulse fiber lasers (1030-nm Yb laser SONATA and 1560-nm Er laser SOPRANO), timing link systems (WAVE), lowest-noise timing distribution (PULSE), frequency and time generation systems (F&T), Balanced Optical Microwave Phase Detection (BOMPD), optical cross-correlation (TC-BOC), phase and frequency control electronics (E-SYNC), and time-interval counter modules (TIC). The systems are delivered as turnkey solutions with tested electronics, software and optics, including installation, site tests and user training; a 24/7 service ensures availability. Applications include free-electron lasers, synchrotrons, radio telescopes, electron diffraction, timing jitter characterization, and materials and life science research; customers include, among others, facilities of the ESA ESTRACK network. The systems are in operation in Europe, Asia and North America. The site and administrative headquarters are in Hamburg, with access to cutting-edge research in ultrafast laser physics.
