d&b audiotechnik GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of sound reinforcement systems for professional event technology. Founded in 1981 by Jürgen Daubert and Rolf Belz and headquartered in Backnang near Stuttgart, the company develops and produces loudspeakers, amplifiers, control systems, software and accessories, with all products designed and manufactured at the Backnang site. The product range comprises point source loudspeakers, column loudspeakers, line arrays and monitors; the ArrayCalc simulation software is used for planning and configuration, and the R1 software for remote control. The company pursues an integrated system concept in which d&b loudspeakers are operated exclusively with d&b amplifiers. In addition to manufacturing, d&b offers system consulting, planning, repair, on-site technical support, training, custom solutions and a Certified Pre-Owned program. With around 700 employees, more than 500 of them at the headquarters, and a partner network in almost 100 countries, d&b serves concerts, festivals, musicals, stadiums, opera houses, clubs, houses of worship, cruise ships as well as the rental and installation market. Since 2023, the company has been part of the d&b Group and belongs to the US investment firm Providence Equity Partners.
