About Dakty electronics
Dakty electronics is a German company for biometric fingerprint sensors based in Hoppstädten-Weiersbach (Rhineland-Palatinate). Its core competence comprises two patented sensor types based on NAOS technology (Normal Absorption Optical Sensor), in which a glass plate made of millions of fused-together optical fibers serves as the sensor surface. The technology enables scanners for single and multi-finger surfaces up to passport-pouch-sized sensors, resolutions typically from 1000 ppi to a maximum of 4000 ppi, as well as color scans and multispectral captures. On this basis, Dakty develops products such as the high-resolution DAKTY-4000-RPI scanner on the Raspberry Pi platform and the DAKTY-4 PASS four-finger and passport scanner. Another pillar is electronics development, particularly in the field of security devices, for partner companies. The team consists of engineers with experience in optics, biometrics, hardware, software and mechanics.

Technologies and Processes
Normal Absorption Optical Sensor
Sensor surface made of millions of fused-together optical fiber strands; measures light absorption at the contact points of the fingerprint ridges.
Fiber-Optic Glass
Extremely robust sensor surface made of fiber-optic glass, which can be repaired by polishing even when scratched and enables large-area sensors in the DAKTY-4 PASS.
