About the Jäck Planing Mill
The Jäck planing mill in Straubenhardt is a sole proprietorship run by Daniel Jäck that manufactures high-quality wood products from the Black Forest. The company planes and profiles wood, including diamond profiles and groove-and-tongue cladding boards, which were used in restoration projects such as the Naturfreundehaus Bodensee. Special structures such as a sailing mast and deck planks for the herring barge Hansine were also produced here. The former sawmill ceased operations in its previous form at the end of 2016; the planing mill production and a small retail operation continue. Production usually takes place between 8:30 and 16:30, and the small retail shop is open Saturdays between 10 and 12; contacting us in advance by telephone or e-mail is recommended.
