Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A., headquartered in Buttrio (UD), Italy, is a supplier of plants and equipment for the metallurgical industry. Its product range includes direct reduction, scrap preparation, melting and refining plants, continuous casting plants, rolling mills for long and flat products, pipe and tube mills, extrusion and forging plants, heat treatment furnaces, heavy-duty cranes as well as process automation and power systems. The group manufactures in its own production plants, among others in Buttrio, Völkermarkt (Austria), Meinerzhagen (Germany), Changshu (China), Rayong (Thailand) and Andhra Pradesh (India), and operates a global network of 31 service centers. More than 1,600 engineers and technicians form the engineering team, and more than 1,000 employees work at Danieli Automation. The workshops cover over 300,000 m² and enable the processing of up to 100,000 t of equipment per year. Research and development investments amounted to approximately €140 million per year in recent years.

Founded by the brothers Mario and Tino/Timo Danieli; takeover of the Angelini Steelworks in Brescia, one of the first users of the electric arc furnace.

Mario Danieli relocates parts of the steelworks to Buttrio for the production of tools for forging plants and auxiliary equipment for rolling mills.
