About Danish Crown
Danish Crown is a global meat producer owned as a cooperative by farmers, with its origins in Denmark. The company processes pork and beef into fresh outlet-chain and consumer products, including minced meat, sausage and further-processed products under the Steff-Houlberg brand as well as meat-vegetable mixed products (Kød & Grønt) in the ratios 50/50, 65/35 and 60/40. The value chain covers slaughtering, cutting, processing, further processing and export; historically, the tradition of bacon exports to England goes back to the founding of the Danish Bacon Company. The history reaches back to the first Danish cooperative pig slaughterhouse in Horsens. Brands include Tulip, Antonius, Bornholmergrisen, Steff Houlberg and Burger BOOST; distribution channels include, among others, Coop Denmark for Bornholmergrisen. For the CO2 footprint calculation of the products, an LCA model according to ISO 14040/14044 is applied.
