About Darmstädter Privatbrauerei

Darmstädter Privatbrauerei GmbH was founded in 1847 and is today run in its sixth generation by the Koehler family. The brewery produces a range of 15 beers and beer-based mixed drinks at its site on Goebelstraße in Darmstadt under the brands Braustüb'l, Darmstädter and Baustil, including Pilsner, Helles, wheat beer, Radler and cola mix. The beer is brewed according to old family recipes using ingredients from the region. In 2016, annual production amounted to 76,000 hl of beer, of which 67,000 hl under its own brands. Since 2000, filling has been carried out predominantly in swing-top bottles as well as in KEG barrels; a modern empty-bottle inspector from Krones checks more than 15,000 bottles per hour for foreign objects, residual liquids and damage before filling. The beverages are sold through hospitality, beverage wholesale distribution and retail in the Darmstadt, Rhine-Main and Rhine-Hessen region. The brewery taproom Braustüb'l is located on the brewery premises; brewery tours and beer tastings are also offered.
