About Dorfmüller
David Dorfmüller Söhne is an owner-managed mid-sized contract manufacturer and fastener producer in Remscheid with a tradition dating back to 1884. The company produces custom and standard-made components such as knurled nuts, washers, screws, rings, flanges and shafts to drawing as well as standard turned parts. The manufacturing processes include CNC turning (including large-part turning up to Ø800 mm, 1000 mm length and 1000 kg piece weight), vertical pick-up turning for large series up to 20,000 pieces, five-axis milling, surface grinding, vibratory finishing, sawing, electrical discharge machining, laser marking and heat treatment (quenching and tempering). Materials processed include heat-treatable steels, stainless steels, free-cutting steels, hot-work steels for high- and low-temperature applications, Inconel alloys, aluminium, brass and copper alloys, stored batch-clean and fully traceable. Customers include shipbuilding, wind power, rail/railway technology, the energy sector (gas and steam turbines), gearbox manufacturing, mechanical engineering and offshore; shipments go to more than 30 countries.
