About the Schlossbrauerei
The De Bassus Schlossbrauerei GmbH in Altmannstein-Sandersdorf (Bavaria) looks back on a brewing tradition dating from 1550. At the foot of the castle rock in the Altmühl Valley Nature Park, organic beers are brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law – including Organic Hell, Organic Dunkel, Light Organic Hell and Alcohol-Free Organic Hell. Since 2020, brewing has been carried out exclusively in accordance with Bioland guidelines; 100 % of the raw materials used come from organic farming. The brewing water springs from the sources of the Jura; hops, barley and wheat are grown organically in the region. The master brewer is Soran Faraj. Since 1 January 2019, the brewery has belonged to the Abensberg brewery Brauerei zum Kuchlbauer; the managing directors are Jacob Horsch and Leonhard Salleck. Keg and bottle filling has been relocated to Abensberg.
