DEFROMAT is a German manufacturer of electric heating and de-icing systems based in Munich. The company develops and produces systems for floor, wall and seat heating, roof gutter and roof surface heating, open-area heating for traffic surfaces and helicopter landing pads, as well as heat tracing for pipes, tanks and valves. Adolf Schmucker founds a company for the manufacture of heat meters and control devices for heating systems.
- 1973
DEFROMAT is founded on 21 December 1973 in Munich by Dipl.-Ing. Adolf Schmucker and Dr. Peter Schmucker (name derived from 'Defrost and Automation').
- 1976
Reinhard Selhausen joins the company and manages the business for two years.
- 1980
Eberhard Pusch takes over the management together with Dr. Peter Schmucker until 2004.

Andreas Koschke joins the company as a commercial attorney (Prokurist).
