Materials and Processes
Brass
Material for turned circular and signal contacts as well as power contacts, usually gold-plated over nickel.
Sheet steel (DTS/DTN/DTSS)
Hoods and shells of the D-Sub connectors, tin-plated, nickel-plated or stainless.
Aluminum
Material for D-Sub hoods and adapter housings.
Plastic (monoblock insulating body)
Insulating bodies of the connectors, flame-retardant to UL94 V-0.
Gold plating (gold over nickel)
Contact coating in quality classes QC1 (500 mating cycles) and QC2 (200 mating cycles).
Plastic injection molding
In-house injection molding of insulating bodies and plastic parts including mold making.
Precision turning
Manufacture of circular and signal contacts on lathes.
Stamping
Stamped contacts on reels for AWG 16 to 28 as an economical version for larger volumes.
