About DENIC eG

DENIC eG, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is the central registry for all .de domains and manages more than 17 million registered domains. Founded in 1996 by 37 internet service providers, the registered cooperative now comprises around 300 members and operates the central domain register, the real-time registration system, and a worldwide network of nameservers at 24 server locations on 6 continents. DENIC operates two independent, highly secure data centers with 24/7 monitoring and relies on virtualization and automation as well as its own cloud platform. Through its wholly owned subsidiary DENIC Services GmbH & Co. KG in Darmstadt, it offers anycast nameservice for TLD registries, data escrow as an exclusive ICANN Data Escrow Agent, and digital escrow for software, IP, keys and AI assets. The services are aimed at ICANN-accredited registrars, gTLD and ccTLD registries, and more than 2,600 escrow customers worldwide.
