DENIC eG, based in Frankfurt am Main, is the central registry for all .de domains. The registered cooperative with around 300 members maintains the central register of all .de domains, operates a worldwide network of nameservers at 24 locations on 6 continents as well as two independent, highly secure data centers for redundancy, handling billions of daily DNS queries. Through its 100% subsidiary DENIC Services GmbH & Co. KG in Darmstadt, DENIC offers Anycast name service for TLD registries, Data Escrow for ICANN-accredited registrars, and Digital Escrow for software, IP, documents, keys and AI assets. .de registration is performed via a real-time registration system on a DENIC-owned cloud platform. In addition to the administration of ENUM domains for the German numbering range (+49), the portfolio includes services such as DNSSEC, .de Registry Lock, whois, the TRANSIT procedure, DISPUTE entry, and holder data verification (NIS-2). Value creation lies entirely in the area of internet infrastructure and IT security; no industrial manufacturing processes are used.
