About DePoly
DePoly SA is a Swiss cleantech company specializing in the chemical recycling of PET and polyester. Its patented technology breaks down unsorted and contaminated PET waste streams from post-consumer and post-industrial sources – including multilayer packaging and colored polyester textiles – into their original monomers PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and MEG (Mono-Ethylene Glycol). The reaction takes place at room temperature without added pressure and without pre-washing of the input material. The recovered monomers are of virgin-grade quality, identical to their petroleum-based counterparts, and serve as a drop-in solution for the production of new PET and polyester. In doing so, DePoly substitutes fossil raw materials and reduces CO2 emissions in the end product by up to 66%. The company with 29 employees from 15 nations serves industries such as FMCG, Packaging, Textiles, Fashion and technical applications and, in addition to its headquarters in Sion, operates a Showcase Plant in Monthey in the canton of Valais.
