About us
Der Insektendealer was a Berlin-based supplier of feeder insects for feeding insectivorous birds as well as terrarium inhabitants such as reptiles and amphibians. The range included, among other things, Cuban cellar woodlice, Asian bean beetles, Madagascar hissing cockroaches and colorful desert locusts. The animals were bred in-house for more than 20 years, fed appropriately for their species and sold fresh. After that time, breeding was discontinued and the retail store in Berlin was closed. Since then, the company has focused on Asian invertebrates from Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam and is planning a shop with information on husbandry and breeding.
