About Deutsche Baryt-Industrie
Deutsche Baryt-Industrie Dr. Rudolf Alberti GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1900 in Bad Lauterberg in the Harz and has been a supplier of high-quality, pure and bright barite products for over 125 years. From barite raw materials sourced on the world market (since 1990, after own mining at the Wolkenhügel mine ended in 2007), the company produces powdered refined products at its Bad Lauterberg plant, such as Albasoft, Albawhite, Barytmehl, EWO and Fleur. Processing is carried out with grinding and classifier technologies, drying lines, bleaching and jet mills. Main fields of application are paints and fillers/putties, coatings, plastics, sound insulation materials, sealants, glass and brake linings. Batch control is handled by an in-house laboratory that tests purity, brightness, particle size distribution and chemical properties. Since 2016, Sachtleben Minerals GmbH & Co. KG has been the sole shareholder; sales are handled by Sachtleben Minerals in Hausach.
