About dehonit
Deutsche Holzveredlung Schmeing GmbH & Co KG (dehonit) was founded in 1934 in Kirchhundem and is a mid-sized manufacturer of synthetic resin compressed wood. The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of synthetic resin compressed wood used as thermal insulation for liquefied gas tank installations and electrical insulation for large transformers. Products include semi-finished products such as tangential rings, finished and drawing-based parts, threaded rods, nuts and solid rods, as well as complete insulation part kits and complex assemblies. The material used is exclusively European red beech (Fagus sylvatica), pressed with synthetic resin into the compressed laminated wood dehonit®; for tank installation supports, dehonit® B 740-1 is used together with the adhesive Epocast 36P (EPOCAST). In addition to production, dehonit offers technical support and monitoring of the tank installation, design support for Cryogenic Tank Supports, as well as repairs, inspections and on-site guidance. Since 2019, the company has been developing the flexible Cryogenic Support generation dehoflex® together with TU Dresden. Production takes place exclusively at the Kirchhundem site; deliveries are made worldwide.
