Manufacturer of care furniture in Saarland
Devita GmbH, based in Oberthal in Saarland, is a manufacturer of care furniture whose craft tradition dates back to 1933 and which was founded as a GmbH in 2001. The family-owned company develops and produces care armchairs with stand-up assistance, anti-decubitus armchairs, senior and contract chairs, tables as well as electric wheelchairs and electric rollators, mostly from its own development and manufacturing (Made in Germany). Models such as Narona, Lutra, Ganda, Rimini, Monza 2, Ulma 2 and the XXL armchair Salamanca, rated for up to 300 kg, are sketched in-house, tested as prototypes, and then assembled, packaged and shipped. Production uses frames of beech and reinforced steel, covers in artificial leather (PVC compound) or microfibre, and paddings of visco and elastomer foam; the range is complemented by carbon electric wheelchairs. Customers include hospitals, care and nursing homes, rehab facilities, workshops and private care households; references include Charité Berlin, several university hospitals and Caritas associations. Manufacturing is supplemented by consultancy, contract furnishing, trial sitting at the Oberthal showroom, and comfort shipping with delivery into the customer's home.
